We left North Carolina and begin our journey back to New Jersey. As we traveled into Virginia we were so impressed with the beauty of the landscape, and of this beautiful country in which we live, that we had to stop and take a picture. It is, with out a doubt, America the Beautiful.
Ryan and Brittany are living in a lake house while she continues her work on her Master's Degree in Roanoke. Again, we were treated like royalty. Unfortunately, since we took the master bedroom, it meant that Ryan had to work to make his bed soft. He burned off a lot of calories--calories that he definitely doesn need to burn--pumping up their bed.
The boat dock adjacent to the lake house property overlooks beautiful mountain and lake scenery. It was gorgeous.
We visited a beautiful natural phenomenon, The Natural Bridge. It was a manmoth natural bridge in exquisite natural settting. That is Karlene and Ryan walking toward it.
We hiked for nearly a mile and came to Lace Falls where water spilled quietly over the rocks creating a beautiful lacy view. 
We made it back to Karlene's and spent a day just relaxing and enjoying Karlene's hospitalty. Chloe finally took a liking to me and we caught up on some zzz's.
That night we ventured into New York City and it was just as exciting as we had remembered. Cabs are everywhere.
It is always fun and exhilerating to see and mingle with all the people.
We had just enough time before the show to grab a bite to eat. We chose a diner near Broadway called Juniors, which is famous for it's cheese cake. We had delectable Ruben sandwiches and finished if off with Chocolate Mousse Cheese Cake. Wow. So so good.
We had a difficult time choosing which Broadway show we would see--we finally chose Wicked and are we ever glad. It was incredible. We'll never watch the Wizard of Oz the same again!
It's not that I think this picture is so special that I need to post it twice. It's more like I can't figure how to delete a picture that I accidently downloaded twice!
The next evening Mark and Leah hosted us for dinner--wow. It was a feast. It is always so good to spend an evening with family. The homemade pie was unbelievable! It was more fun watching Leah and Alex than it was to watch "So You Think You Can Dance!"
The trip ended all to fast and it was one trip we will never forget. But it couldn't have happened without our host, chauffer, cook, concierge, tour guide, source of great humor, and one of two of the best sisters ever. Thanks Karlene. It was unforgettable.
